August 2020 – Relocation to
Wildax ‘Blue’
a newer, slightly wider but 6m length van conversion on a Citroen Relay. Very similar in layout and spec to both Monte1 & 2. So far, so delighted.

Love my current home roaming the lanes – it’s a Mercedes Sprinter long wheel base van, with the ‘Sapphire’ conversion by Devon Van Conversions based in County Durham. The 90-watt solar panel is fantastic at keeping the battery topped up, keeping my phone and tablet going, as well as the odd bit of LED lighting. The LPG tank is filled for very little dosh, and runs the fridge and cooker extremely economically. Trying to live cheaply, I am a avoiding paying for electricity on camper parks and campsites and proving that this is eminently feasible. In staying on aires and parks where sometimes there are no services, ie toilets, the rule of only No 1s on-board had to be dissolved with consequences mitigated by the installation of a SOG unit, and the deployment of ‘Happy Bowl’ liners :). I am tending to stay on formal aires, paying camper parks or campsites, thereby incurring costs out of season around 10 – 15eu per night.
Got all home comforts, tech, tv etc but I have gone to places in it, I know I wouldn’t otherwise have visited. What’s not to love 🙂
