Decision Making ….

Have become aware of how difficult it can be to make decisions and then actually implement them, particularly those which involve stepping out of comfort zones, when one is doing this completely solo. And all sorts of things are outside the comfort zones, from driving a 7m long vehicle along unknown..

Swimming Cossie & Parasol; 1st proper beach day of 2019 at Praia Cabanas today

Clear blue sky, and late 20’s; time to do a summer holiday at the beach – ie sit on it in costume, under parasol, full suntan lotion, be prepared to go in the water. What a perfect beach. It’s a little boat ride across the river – part of the Ria Formosa nature reserve area..

Not quite solo when digital …

Using 4G, mifi or campsite wifi means that one is never alone, or I’m not with my extended crew, and am very happy to be able to watch Line of Duty, Champions League, Federer playing the tennis opens, – currently Madrid – The Good Fight etc etc via Prime, BT or Sky Sports subscriptions..

Gushings …

No this is not a post about how one’s stress/urge incontinence is managed beyond the onboard toilet – still haven’t added the SheWee to the equipment set – but I want to note the simple pleasures that I on many occasions actually verbalise to myself given that I’m travelling..

Moving Dwellings

Enjoy seeing the variety of travelling homes/hotels:

Landrover Defender – converted army ambulance for John & Donna’s 2-year epic

Tavira

Cycled to town of Tavira today – about 4 miles away; absolutely loved it – reminded me of St Martin de Re on Ile de Re in France, but alot less understated. The buildings are beautiful. Also am realising that it’s great to be enjoying this weather now in May – around 25..

Into Portugal; Cabanas: Camping Rio Formosa

Easy journey from Dos Hermanos, near Seville, to just across the border and into the Algarve, staying at the above campsite, without electricity, for an extremely reasonable price, even including a discount for the ASCI card.

Must give campsite a plug, for its location – just 1km down..

Seville; Camping Villsom

Well – indeed a fabulous city to visit – nice campsite to stay at at town called Dos Hermanos; half-hourly air-conditioned (very welcome, even at mid to late 20’s) bus within 50 metres of the site for the sum of 1.70eu.

There was a feria day on Wednesday and the obviously..

Cadiz; Camping Playa Las Dunas

Wanted to see this city, so stayed at the above campsite across the bay at Puerta de Santa Maria and got the water ferry from there – about 30 min crossing for 2.75 euro. Enjoyed doing a 2-hour walking tour around the centre. Can see the naval influences, some of the buildings reminded me..

Bottom of Spain; Tarifa – Camping Rio Jara

Lovely setting for this site, and only 3 – 4 km cycling from Tarifa. These beaches are very much kite-surfing destinations. Tarifa – very pleasant small historic port and walled streets, and town plus area has a more ‘young’ vibe, due to the kite-surfing. Possible to get..
